Garmin InReach data plan basic data fee
Order for initial setup and activation of the basic plan (basic annual fee) for a GARMIN InReach device: € 49 per year (equivalent to 365 days from activation date), includes access to explore.garmin.com and protegear.io
The active data plans
required for communication with the iridium satellite network (e.g. SAFETY, TRACKING, ...) can then be changed and activated or deactivated at any time via your protegear.io account. The active data plans are billed monthly by SEPA direct debit or credit card for up to 30 consecutive days and any overage fees. A minimum turnover of € 10 is charged per year for active data plans. Unused units from a 30-day period cannot be carried over to the next billing period.
Please log in to your Garmin account (explore.garmin.com) and your IMEI only after
we have confirmed the setup by email ("[FIRST STEPS] Welcome to protegear.io").

We recommend that you use a different email address for your new ProteGear InReach dataplan, as it will take some time to merge the above services with the same account. Connect+ and SAR subscriptions must currently be processed through a different Garmin account (different email address) due to technical limitations within the Garmin system.
